The Hibernators

The forests lie open
as the lone snowflake descends,
melting as it reaches the white blanket.
Clouds part to reveal
the golden radiance of Sun,
beauty surpassed not even by
the cool sliver of Moon of Night.
The first rays hit the ground,
warming the hibernators,
warning the hibernators,
waking them from their
cold induced sleep.
Together with the steam
rising off the white sheets,
they rise...
And set their eyes on a world
not as they had left it.
